Consortium Service Award

This award is given annually to a person who gives above and beyond in service to the Guilford Nonprofit Consortium and who inspires others to support a significant cause for the betterment of life in Guilford County.

2010 recipient:

Dennis Walsh headshotDennis Walsh, CPA
Principal, The Micah Project

Early in the Consortium's history, Dennis volunteered to initiate our Financial Help Desk — through which he provides free financial management, accounting, and compliance assistance to our members. He also became a valued member of our steering committee. Dennis is an inspiration to everyone he touches. He embraces the motto of the Consortium and continuously gives all that he can to support our local nonprofit sector.

First recipient, 2009:

Dr. Ruth D. Anderson, Executive Director,
Servant Leadership School of Greensboro

Ruth was instrumental in the development of the Guilford Nonprofit Consortium. She has served as chair of the Steering Committee and is the current chair of the Program Committee. She was a key team member in developing the Executive Director Academy; she co-facilitated the first Academy and she serves on the Advisory Committee. She also represents the Consortium in the broader community in several capacities and has volunteered to write a monthly column for the Guilford Record, telling stories about our member nonprofits.
