Guilford Child Development
Founded in 1967, Guilford Child Development (GCD) offers five family-centered programs in collaboration with numerous community partners here in Guilford County. Our mission is to help young children and families reach their full potential. We operate Head Start and Early Head Start, Regional Child Care Resources and Referral, Nurse-Family Partnership, Catering for Kids and Learning Together Family Literacy Program.
GCD operates 13 four and five star child development centers in Guilford County and is the largest single county Head Start/Early Head Start program in the state. EIght of our centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (of only twelve in Guilford County).
